Privacy Policy — Return Checkpoint for YouTube

Return Checkpoint for YouTube has one purpose: saving a local playback return point for a standard YouTube video so the user can review an earlier segment and return to the saved position.

Data handled

The extension processes:

the video ID extracted from the current youtube.com/watch URL;
the saved playback position, measured in seconds; and
the time when the checkpoint was saved.

These values are stored only in Chrome's local extension storage on the user's device. The extension does not store the video title, note text, YouTube account details, cookies, or the user's general browsing history.

How the data is used

The data is used only to restore the checkpoint control for the same video, return playback to the saved position when requested, and safely coordinate checkpoint changes across the user's open YouTube tabs.

The extension does not send data to the publisher or any third party. It has no analytics, advertising, tracking, remote server, remote code, or account integration. Data is not sold, shared, or used for credit, lending, or personalized advertising.

Permissions

storage keeps checkpoints available across page reloads and browser restarts.
Access to https://www.youtube.com/* lets the extension follow YouTube's single-page navigation, identify the current standard video, add the player control, and read or change playback time when the user requests it.

Retention and deletion

A checkpoint remains in local extension storage until the user returns successfully, selects Delete checkpoint, or uninstalls the extension. Uninstalling the extension causes Chrome to remove its local extension storage.

Limited Use

Use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
