Return Checkpoint for YouTube has one purpose: saving a local playback return point for a standard YouTube video so the user can review an earlier segment and return to the saved position.

These values are stored only in Chrome's local extension storage on the user's device. The extension does not store the video title, note text, YouTube account details, cookies, or the user's general browsing history.

How the data is used

The data is used only to restore the checkpoint control for the same video, return playback to the saved position when requested, and safely coordinate checkpoint changes across the user's open YouTube tabs.

The extension does not send data to the publisher or any third party. It has no analytics, advertising, tracking, remote server, remote code, or account integration. Data is not sold, shared, or used for credit, lending, or personalized advertising.

Permissions

Retention and deletion

A checkpoint remains in local extension storage until the user returns successfully, selects Delete checkpoint, or uninstalls the extension. Uninstalling the extension causes Chrome to remove its local extension storage.

Limited Use

Use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
